Stop Bullying in Ulster County (New York)

Director, Producer, Writer, Videographer, Video Editor, Video Graphics, Sound

For this documentary, I was a one-woman show. That means I handled the directing, producing, writing, camera, lighting, sound, editing, color correcting, and mixing. Adding to the mix, I only had 21 days from start to finish to make the deadline. Luckily, I got help with some shooting, and some B-roll from Learning for Justice (back when it was Teaching Tolerance).

This video was part of an effort to combat the bullying epidemic. It kicked off No Name Calling Week, and was screened simultaneously in all of Ulster County, New York’s middle and high schools.  It was followed by a week’s worth of student art shows, theatre pieces, concerts, and other events.

Thanks to Mike Hein, the Ulster County Executive at the time, for caring so deeply about this issue, and to Suzanne Holt, who acted as Executive Producer. Thanks to everyone else who pitched in for this good cause. Most of all, thanks to the brave students who spoke out so honestly about bullying.
