Liquidity: The Value of Wetlands

Videographer, Video Editor/Producer, Writer, Sound, Audio Mixer

Liquidity: The Value of Wetlands helped to get a wetlands law passed in New Paltz, NY.  We showed it everywhere we could; it screened at Upstate Films, The Greenburgh Center, the Rosendale Theatre, public access TV stations, town hall meetings, local libraries, even floating on a Hudson River Barge. The law passed. Amazing what you can do with a tiny camcorder and an underwater case!

I created this half-hour documentary to educate people about the value of wetlands. Wetlands clean our drinking water, reduce flooding, reduce pests, act as biodiversity nurseries, and slow climate change by absorbing carbon.

This documentary was a labor of love because I feel passionately about protecting nature. That’s why I share the video for free on YouTube, where it has over 26,000 views. Additionally, I allowed the NYS Dept. of Environmental Conservation’s Hudson River Estuary Program to distribute a free DVD of the video around the state. If it saves a vernal pool or two, I’ve done something good.
