My assignment: watch a bunch of documentaries and create spots for the roll-out of Showtime’s first-ever documentary series, Exposure. It was exciting to work on another premiere project. Previously, I worked on show reels for John Edward’s Crossing Over and the Oprah’s first cable network, Oxygen. Some of the documentaries really opened my eyes, which is what good docs should do.
This was a dream job because I love watching documentaries almost as much as I love editing. Plus, I was given complete creative freedom to tell these stories. Perhaps best of all, my edit room had a window…with a view! If you’ve ever been a professional editor, you know how rare it is to have a window. To cap it all off, there was a Two Boots nearby. Heaven.
