SCHIZOPHRENIA circa 1986
In the era of “greed is good” and “the government is the problem,” something went out of whack in America. This 16mm short film was shot in NYC during the “Me” decade, when cocaine wasn’t addictive, “yuppie” was a new term, and Reagan was President. It uses real quotes as dialogue to humorous effect, highlighting the growing disparity between rich and poor. I directed the actor segments, but shot the b-roll myself. I finally learned Avid and completed it fifteen years later. It was shown at festivals in Baltimore, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York and Toronto.
