LIQUIDITY: THE VALUE OF THE WETLANDS
This half-hour documentary illustrates how valuable a resource wetlands are by helping to clean our drinking water, reduce flooding, reduce pests, act as a biodiversity nursery, and slow climate change by absorbing carbon. This documentary was credited with helping to pass a wetlands law in New Paltz when it was screened at Upstate Films, The Greenburgh Center, the Rosendale Theatre, public access TV stations, town hall meetings, and even a Hudson River Barge to kick off Creek Week. The NYS Dept. of Environmental Conservation’s Hudson River Estuary Program distributed the DVD around the Hudson Valley. It is approaching 15,000 views on YouTube, where it is offered free of charge. Amazing what you can do with a tiny camcorder! Environmental activist Callie Hershey, a personal hero of mine, acted as an executive producer.
